Singapore Government to Limit Number of “Shoebox” Developments

Previously we blogged about the proliferation of shoebox apartments in Singapore, and how there’s a trend of shoebox apartment owners making use of self-storage facilities to store their household belongings and prized collections.  The Singapore government recently announced caps on the number of shoebox units within new developments in suburban areas.  This is to prevent overcrowding and congestion  – already a problem in hotspots such as Kovan and Joo Chiat.  Our analysis is that as apartment sizes shrink across the board (from shoeboxes to three-bedders), the demand for self-storage facilities would increase.  Our self storage facilities at Chai Chee and Tanjong Pagar are well positioned to serve the needs both of city and suburban dwellers.  With a self-storage unit, you can collect as many hard-copy novels as you wish without cluttering your homes.  Visit our website for more details.

Congrats Icz Lau!  You are the lucky winner of a pair of movie tickets.  Click here if you wish to take part in Singapore’s largest ever self-storage survey.  Everyone can take part!
